Government Spending Review - it's not a catch 22
Police Chiefs can invest in efficiency and productivity while cutting costs.
Law enforcement is continuously under strain from a range of competing demands alongside the added pressure of efficiency savings. At Forensic Analytics our mission is, and has always been, to improve efficiency by creating effective tools, along with expert support to law enforcement professionals.

Understanding the Challenge
With the spending review set to conclude in June, and the requirement for three-year submissions, law enforcement professionals are faced with the challenge of finding ways to enhance productivity and efficiency within the workforce, all while managing costs effectively. Although seemingly a catch-22, it is in fact possible to manage costs while investing in efficiency. With the increasing digital aspect of crime, there are long-term investments that make this objective achievable.
Law enforcement is continuously under strain from a range of competing demands alongside the added pressure of efficiency savings. At Forensic Analytics our mission is, and has always been, to improve efficiency by creating effective tools, along with expert support to law enforcement professionals. As complex digital investigations continue to grow, placing immense pressure on analysts and investigators, now is the crucial time to invest in technology that is proven to enhance productivity, significantly increase charge rates, and ultimately lead to better outcomes for victims, and for justice.
Increased Efficiency - Reduced Costs
Forensic Analytics is a company built on the ideology that technology can drive efficiency in policing, so that law enforcement can do more for less. Some of our key efficiency drivers include:
Advanced analytics for multiple crime types:
Forensic Analytics has supported many initiatives with high-level political imperatives, all aimed at improving force results. For example, we teamed up with the Metropolitan Police to launch Operation Atlas, supporting the government initiative to halve violence against women and girls in two parliaments. The results showed ground-breaking improvements to this staggering area of crime; Operation Atlas saw an increase from 6% to 66% in charge rates, alongside reduced resolution times from 15 weeks to, in many cases, within 24 hours. These astonishing results were made possible with the investment in CSAS licences and the training and support from our team of experts of former analysts and senior investigating officers.
Improving charge rates, reducing time:
Although change can be daunting, technology is one of the few investments that can provide the greatest return on investment. CSAS has the ability to ingest vast volumes of data quickly, creating an immediate picture of offending, that otherwise would take significant time to gather and analyse, and would require more intrusive / expensive techniques. This software alone in one drug lines case, was estimated to save police £1.1m, and the courts £1m. Savings to this degree justify spending as “efficiency drivers”, maximising productivity and value against budgeted investment.
Partnering with forces to improve products and services:
CSAS is continuously evolving, driven by our in-house experts, as we respond to industry feedback. With new products like CSAS Find emerging on the market, we are always working to maximise the value we offer to our customers. The CSAS Find app is designed to be used directly by frontline police officers, enhancing efficiency in real time; a crucial benefit when working on larger initiatives such as Safer Streets and Missing Persons.
Enabling analysts to enhance capabilities:
CSAS provides users with powerful analytical queries and functions, providing insights into data, supporting complex case work throughout the investigative lifecycle. In addition, we offer first-class training on our product range and on digital forensics and industry specific topics. led by experts in respective fields. This training, in combination with the efficiency of CSAS enables analysts to optimise their skills for even the most complex areas of crime. Importantly, we support you not only throughout training, but also as you go on to practice your learned expertise in real life scenarios.
